Frankie Woodhams has been a Foundation Stage teacher since 2001, and presently works full-time at Pinhoe C. of E. School in Exeter. She is passionate about drama, a passion which extends across the Primary age range; she adores working with young children and believes in celebrating the magic that all children create. Frankie leads the Foundation Stage curriculum for her school, a framework that aims to enable children to be to be autonomous in the ways they access learning. In Frankie’s classroom, everybody has the freedom and opportunity to be whoever or whatever they want to be and every day is a new and exciting journey!
Frankie has recently been involved in a school-based project that investigated the use of art as a vehicle for the delivery of SEAL. She also runs a drama club in school where children are enabled to explore feelings and emotions in an environment that is safe, nurturing – and fun! In 2007, Frankie was a member of an Advisory team of teachers that travelled to Canada to introduce and promote the LEAP initiative (an Early Years physical literacy programme developed in Devon) to schools and the Ontario Board of Education. In her spare time, Frankie is an active and enthusiastic amateur performer with the Northcott Theatre in Exeter.
